*French only*
This project aims to bring together elementary schools from Quebec, France, and the Francophone world at large, to introduce them to the various aspects of Oceanography and other ocean-related expertise through a week of tailored webinars, presented by young graduates, professionals, and researchers. These individuals are invited to share their journeys that led them to work in oceanography or their current professions, their research work or daily activities, as well as their lived experiences. It’s a unique opportunity to unite the young community of researchers and Francophone professionals with the next generation.
The webinar week is scheduled around World Ocean Day (June 8th), thereby highlighting the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030). Entirely online, in French, and free of charge, numerous classes can attend several webinars per day, and have the opportunity to ask questions live to our speakers, to (re)watch the webinars afterward (on our website) and to send questions via email.
An artistic competition is also offered to the participating classes on the occasion of World Ocean Day. This project follows the previous two successful editions in June 2022 and 2023.
Activity: June 3-7, 2024
Registration: Starting April 29 – Be informed of the opening (Here or Here).
