Whale Celebration [Fanfare pour Une Baleine!]

Montreal, QC

June 8 and 9, 2024

Artists Cynthia Girard-Renard + Jean-Philippe Thibault and their artist/musician friends invite you to join a fantastical parade to honour marine life. The artists will create enormous papier-maché sculptures representing the humpback whale who was seen in Montreal’s harbour in 2020, as well as other marine creatures.  The polyphonic parade route will trace the shoreline of the St. Lawrence River where the whale was observed, through Montreal’s Old Port from Louis-Hippolyte Lafontaine Bridge to Jacques Cartier Bridge.
