This hands-on outdoor learning experience takes place at a nearby river or stream within our local watershed. Through a guided field excursion, youth participants explore watershed systems, seasonal changes, and the vital role freshwater sources play in our ecosystems.
Using Water Rangers freshwater testkits, participants will collect and analyze real water samples, building practical water science skills and confidence in environmental monitoring. Indigenous knowledge and teachings about water stewardship will be respectfully woven throughout the day, grounding the experience in a deeper relationship with land and water.
This event is designed to strengthen environmental literacy, foster meaningful connection to local waterways, and empower young people to take an active role in community science.
