NunatuKavut ENR department is organizing two events to mark World Oceans Day

Both are public events with Participaction from k-6 years at Bayside Academy and Henry Gordan Academy and support from Family Resource Centre and Community Youth Centre and other NCC departments and local businesses.

Monday, June 9 starting 10: 40 (Cartwright) and 11:00 am (Port Hope Simpson)

• Short Beach Clean up, with a short debrief on hazards of plastics to fish and others sea life
• Hike to Greenhouse for a little tour and chat about health foods, and making good fertile soil (zero waste) – focus on food security and importance of local foods such as fish and gardens to our diets and wellbeing.
• Kids Interactive Games with prizes
• BBQ lunch
• Kids will return to school for afternoon classes
