As a continuation of the Ocean Week celebrations in Canada, Ocean in our life is inviting the families of the Durham Region to discover the Ocean, Freshwater, and Us Giant Floor Map.

Participants could walk on top, imagine following the Canadien rivers all the way to the ocean, discovering, and learning about the various ways Canada is working to protect the ocean and freshwater areas. This event will take place outside the Newcastle Library.

We invite the participants to previous to the event, download the Ocean Week Canada app onto their device. The day of the event, scan the circular marker at the bottom centre of the
map and start enjoying your experiences.

The Ocean, Freshwater, and Us map project was led by the Canadian Ocean Literacy Coalition in collaboration with the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, Ocean School, and a multi-partner national design committee.
