As a continuation of the Ocean Week celebrations in Canada, “Ocean in Our Life” is inviting 250 seniors from the Durham Region to discover the Ocean, Freshwater, and Us Giant Floor Map.
Participants can walk on the map, imagine following Canadian rivers all the way to the ocean, and learn about the various ways Canada is working to protect ocean and freshwater areas. This event will take place at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex in Bowmanville.
We encourage participants to download the Ocean Week Canada app onto their device before the event. On the day of the event, scan the circular marker at the bottom center of the map and start enjoying your experiences.
The Ocean, Freshwater, and Us map project was led by the Canadian Ocean Literacy Coalition in collaboration with the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, Ocean School, and a multi-partner national design committee.
