Tea and Walk – Respect for Water

May 22nd 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Mount Currie, British Columbia

Join the Líl̓wat Nation’s Title and Rights Department for a special outdoor open house this spring! These community events are a chance to connect with the land through hands-on workshops and trips out on the territory. Community members from Mount Currie and Pemberton are invited to spend the day on the land with us, exploring and celebrating our connection to water.

We’ll start with a traditional Líl̓wat welcome and introductions at the Ullus parking lot or green space, then take a walk down to the Birkenhead River to a peaceful pebbly beach. Along the way, guest educator Praise Osifo will guide us through water testing activities using Water Rangers test kits, and we’ll also test water at the Grandmother Slough to compare results.

There will be plenty of time to share stories and knowledge about the Birkenhead and our local waters.

Please note: This event involves walking and spending time outdoors for the day. A shuttle can be arranged if needed.
