Ships2Shores is a national youth leadership and sail training program based in Toronto, Ontario, and this Ocean Week Canada they’re taking things a little deeper!
As part of their onsite sail training activities, participants will get hands-on with water collection and marine conservation programming, learning how to collect and analyze real water samples using Water Rangers equipment right from the water’s edge. Through experiential learning and community engagement, the program weaves together environmental stewardship and seamanship in a way that’s hard to find anywhere else.
At the heart of it all is a simple but powerful idea: that local waterways and the ocean are part of the same connected system, and that young people who understand that connection are better equipped to protect it. Ships2Shores is helping to build the next generation of people who care deeply about water and are ready to act.
