The ocean is vast and mysterious. Below the waves, a diversity of habitats fills this underwater world. Explore cool and curious oceanic homes for intriguing animal and plant life. Journey through a full day of discovery with museum experts and partners as we explore the wonders of ocean and freshwater habitat.

Walk on a Giant Ocean Map
Explore the Ocean, Freshwater, and Us giant floor map and learn all about marine protection in Canada! Follow the flow lines from your home all the way to the ocean to better understand how all waterways are connected.

Paint an Oceanic Mural
Add your brushstroke to a live mural with Ojibwe-Ukrainian artist Stephanie Banij, celebrating our connection to oceans and waterways.

Test Water Samples
Try hands-on water-testing tools and learn how we measure the health of lakes and rivers with Water Rangers! Explore a giant floor map and discover how you can help protect our waters.

Explore an Ocean Career
Step into the world of polar exploration with Students on Ice, test your knowledge of sustainable ocean practices and go on a scavenger hunt that reveals life above and below the surface.

Program a Mini Robot
Task a mini robot to clean up pollution and learn how technology can help protect aquatic ecosystems.

Take a Selfie with a Marine Animal
Get to know fascinating ocean creatures and habitats with Oceans North through video, sound and images. Meet Oceans North scientists, ask questions and snap a selfie with your favourite marine animal.

Play Beyond the Sea Trivia
Challenge your knowledge with fun, fast-paced water trivia!

Schedule:

  • Paint an Oceanic Mural activity: 5 pm – 8 pm
  • All other activities: 10 am – 1 pm, 5 pm – 8 pm
