Summer seems to have finally arrived to Toronto, and our beaches are filling up! Not just with amazing people, but with some trash, too – so let’s get out there and make a fun day out of cleaning up our spaces by the waves!
π Join Laamina Saravanane and Dany Ko (of SCI AIDE!) for an Ocean Week Canada event at Woodbine Beach on Saturday, June 20th from 2pm – 4pm ET for a lovely time, wonderful people, and a fun time by the water.
π§ One Ocean at a Time, led by Laamina, aims to provide a fun and meaningful way for individuals to participate in marine conservation through a shoreline clean-up at Woodbine Beach. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about water pollution and responsible waste disposal practices. We’ll also be providing equipment to do a small shoreline cleanup.
π In addition to the clean-up, Dany will lead some water testing with Water Rangers kits, where weβll dive into the importance of water quality and learn about the health of both marine and freshwater ecosystems.
