Cherry Beach & Tommy Thompson Park Shoreline Cleanup with Toronto Nature Stewards, Don’t Mess with the Don, U of T Trash Team, Ocean Wise.
Dates: May 31 & July 12, 2025 Time: 9:45 AM – 1:00 PM for all areas.
Land based groups meet up: 2 Regatta Road – near Cherry Beach OR Tommy Thompson Park – pre-registered participants meet at 1 Leslie Street- near washrooms at entry.
Pre-registered kayakers meet at the Cherry Beach Kayak storage area.
Join us for a Shoreline & Waterway Cleanup at Cherry Beach and Tommy Thompson Park!
This community-driven event aims to remove litter from both land and water, protecting wildlife and preserving Toronto’s beautiful waterfront.
Event Activities
- Shoreline Cleanup: Volunteers remove litter along the beach and surrounding trails.
- Waterway Cleanup: Kayakers collect floating and nearshore debris.
- Waste Sorting & Data Collection: Tracking the types and quantities of waste removed to support environmental advocacy.
- Community Gathering: A wrap-up session to celebrate our efforts, share insights, and discuss ways to reduce pollution.
Volunteer Participation
We welcome individuals, families, and community groups! Shoreline volunteers will receive gloves, bags, and collection tools. (Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult)
Support & Collaboration
We invite local organizations, businesses, and environmental groups to join us by contributing resources, spreading awareness, or participating in the cleanup.
