10 AM | Welcome & Introductions to the Goose Spit & K’omoks FN Lands
10.15 AM | Beach Clean Up Begins ~ grab a supplied paper bag or cardboard box and fill w plastics & garbages from shoreline and beach areas
11 AM | Broom Bashing along the Shoreline ~ pull, cut, demolish invasive scottish broom plants
11.30 AM | Herring Fishing & Stocks + Kus Kus Sum presentations | Art Lawson / Comox Valley Project Watershed
12.30 PM | Lunch and Paddle Demonstrations – try your hand at paddleboarding, canoeing or kayaking; kyte surfing pending windy weather. Bring your PFD if you have one; there will be a limited supply.
1.30 PM | Final gathering of Beach Clean Up bags/boxes, all garbages from on-site use – ready to haul to Spit Road
1.45 PM | Closing & Thank yous! Queneesh Indigenous Community Society raises our hands to you for joining us on this special day and keeping our sacred waters cleaner and ready for future generations!
