Marine Ecology Exploration by Paddleboard (June 8th)

Ocean Week Victoria

June 8th 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
Victoria, British Columbia

Celebrate World Ocean Day with us and enjoy a memorable stand-up paddleboard tour along the coastline. Glide across the water as you explore the vibrant world of the rocky intertidal zone and kelp forest, teeming with life and mystery. Our guided experience will immerse you in the fascinating connections between land and sea, and the hidden wonders that thrive just below the surface. From swaying forests of kelp to the creatures that call them home, discover the delicate balance of this and other coastal ecosystems while enjoying a unique adventure on the water.

Your hosts are Mer Tales Ocean Journeys’ professional Marine Biologist and paddle guide, Gina Lemieux, Pacific Wild’s Marine Specialist, Sydney Dixon, and South Island SUP. All proceeds will be donated to Pacific Wild to support their ocean conservation initiatives. Sydney will speak about ecosystems and how they connect to Pacific Wild’s campaigns as well as share what she’s learned so far on her Master of Science research project regarding how access to marine nutrients shapes how large carnivores, move, hunt, and share space in an already fragmented landscape.

Come curious, ask Gina and Sydney lots of questions, win prizes, leave inspired—and maybe even a little saltier.
