Drawing on his own research and collaborative studies, he will provide an overview of how kelp forests function as foundational ecosystems in the Northeast Pacific. After examining the current status and threats facing these habitats, the session will conclude by highlighting the innovative tools and strategies being developed to protect and restore these essential coastal ecosystems.
