Have you ever seen a strange critter washed up on the beach and wished you could ask a scientist what it was? iNaturalist is like having professors in your pocket! iNaturalist is an app that allows users to upload evidence of living things and suggests an identification for the organism. Other scientists using the app can either verify or suggest another ID!

Want to learn more about iNaturalist and practice your sea creature identification skills? Join CPAWS-NS and Torpedo Rays on June 5th at 6pm at Sandy Cove/Terrence Bay Beach for a BioBlitz – where we try to identify as many marine species as possible with iNaturalist!

This event is open to people on land and in the sea. Scuba divers, freedivers, snorkelers, and mermaids are all encouraged to join! Equipment is not provided and you must have proof of a SCUBA certification if you plan on taking part in the dive as a scuba diver.
