Cowichan Estuary Ocean Week Exploration and Cleanup

June 8th
Cowichan Bay, British Columbia

Our event will bring the community together for a day of hands-on environmental action and outdoor learning!

Activities will include exploration of the estuary critters during low tide, a beach clean-up to remove debris from the estuary and its shore, and a guided nature walk.

The walk, led by a local naturalist, will explore the shoreline ecosystem, highlighting local wildlife and native plants. We will also take advantage of the newly built stairs to our local heron rookery, providing an opportunity to observe these birds in their natural habitat.

This event is designed to be inclusive, engaging, and educational, encouraging participants to connect with and care for the local marine environment. Everyone is welcome!
