Alliance pense: Where language meets the Sea! – A BOOK LAUNCH

This first week of June, let’s dive into the ocean world together, in the presence of one of the co-authors of “The Inner Bay of Fundy Colouring & Activity Book”: Sondra Eger! An opportunity to learn more about ocean literacy in a workshop format: bilingual English-French learning and colouring.

The event will take place on Wednesday, June 4 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Alliance Française in Halifax, 5509 Young Street, as part of Ocean Week Halifax.

Sondra Eger is a postdoctoral researcher at Memorial University, Newfoundland. She is an interdisciplinary social and natural scientist interested in the social dimensions of coastal and marine complex social-ecological problems. She currently lives in Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia and she is working for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans on science communication and ocean literacy.

The Inner Bay of Fundy Colouring & Activity Book” by Sondra Eger, Darren Porter and Erica Porter and illustrated by Jason Confesor.

Dive into the Inner Bay of Fundy‘s coastal and marine systems with this interactive colouring and activity book designed for all ages!

Created with input from scientists, fishers, and indigenous peoples, the book blends fun and learning through content on local species, ecosystems, and activities.

With flexible learning approaches and a “choose your own adventure” style, it invites curiosity, creativity, and ocean literacy.

Exciting news: one copy of the book to be won will be drawn!

This is A BOOK LAUNCH event for the English version, currently being translated into Mi’kmaq and French languages. Online preorders will be possible.
