As a part of Burgeo Ocean Week 2024, ACAP Humber Arm will be organizing the annual used fishing gear collection for recycling or safe disposal of this gear! When stored along the coastline, old and out-of-use fishing gear can be washed into the marine environment and become a hazard for aquatic life. As part of a proactive approach to this issue, we invite anyone to drop-off their unwanted fishing gear at the designated drop-off location at the Burgeo fire hall parking lot from May 27-31.
Additionally, ACAP Humber Arm is hosting an aquatic invasive species display and Green Crab touch tank at the Burgeo playground and fire hall from 11:00am-2:00pm on Saturday, June 1. We hope to see you there!
