For World Ocean Day, Aodren Rouleau (16 years old) and his mother Magali Le Luc, both ambassadors of Mission 1000 tonnes, are launching the Mission 1000 Cigarette Butts challenge.

For one week, the goal is simple: collectively pick up at least 1,000 cigarette butts per day from our neighbourhoods, parks, streets, and public spaces to help reduce environmental pollution. Cigarette butts are among the most polluting types of litter found in nature. A single butt can contaminate hundreds of litres of water and release toxic substances harmful to ecosystems, waterways, and oceans.

Every butt counts.
