Each spring, the Hammond River Angling Association (HRAA) hosts field trip classes from the local elementary schools to come learn about the importance of water monitoring and to release their Fish Friends Atlantic salmon fry into the Hammond River! Students get to use a Water Rangers kit to take water quality samples from the Hammond River. Students will learn the importance of health water quality for fish survival. This will provide students with a hands-on foundation on water testing, bridging the gap between freshwater and ocean life. Once the water has been tested, students will release their salmon fry into the Hammond River!
