June 3rd 2023 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Petty Harbour, Newfoundland and Labrador
Our event is a celebration of Ocean Week Canada as well as the seasonal opening of the Petty Harbour Mini Aquarium!
The event will take place just outside the Petty Harbour Mini Aquarium (35 Southside Road, Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove, NL) on June 3rd 2023, and will tentatively run from 10am-6pm.
Our event will include many interactive activities focused on marine life and education such as a model robotic arm for coral retrieval, a newly developed virtual reality diving program, as well as plenty of additional ocean themed games and activities. We will also include educational stations to learn about things such as squid anatomy through dissections and obtain information on invasive species from our marine educators. Admission to the outdoor event is free of charge and open to individuals of all ages.
The Mini Aquarium will be open for during the event and regular admission rates apply. The Petty Harbour Mini Aquarium consists of over 25 displays of local marine animals, touch tanks, and interactive marine themed exhibits.
With all of the activities we have planned, we are certain that attendees of all ages will have a blast and develop a new appreciation of the marine environment. We hope to demonstrate the importance of our world ocean and aim to give our participants an idea of how small changes in their daily lives can make a profound change on marine health.
