Join us on June 8 at the Canadian Museum of Nature’s Water Gallery to celebrate Oceans Day!
Come and see our living marine creatures in our Pacific Discovery Basin, discover how we conserve the biodiversity of the world’s deep oceans and fresh waters, and meet a group of researchers from the Canadian Museum of Nature, the American Fisheries Society – Ontario Chapter, Carleton University and the University of Toronto who are currently working together to protect migratory fish from the Ottawa River to the ocean.
And don’t miss Critical Distance, a one-week-only public exhibition in Gallery X, supported by the Canadian Ocean Knowledge Coalition’s Blue Creators grant during Canada Oceans Week 2024 (June 1 to 9). There, you can virtually interact with a pod of southern resident killer whales using augmented reality headsets, experience the impact of aquatic noise pollution, and meet environmental advocates from British Columbia’s Gulf Islands who will be on hand to discuss their research and answer your questions.
