Gulf Islands Social Paddle Clean Up

Ocean Week Victoria

June 6th 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
North Saanich, British Columbia

Social Paddle and Ocean Clean Up from Pacifica Swartz Bay (Canoe Cove Marina) hosted by Pacifica Paddle Sports and the Trash Panda Brigade

This is a chance to connect with the paddling community while cleaning up shorelines that are not accessible by road. We focus on the islands near Canoe Cove Marina, and stay below the high tide line.

Explore the incredible Gulf Islands that are teeming with marine and wildlife, and show your love for the ocean by doing a clean up. This is a relaxed pace paddle, to keep it beginner friendly, and we will be hopping in and out of the boats to access the shorelines that need to be cleaned.  The Social Paddle Cleanup is led by kayak and SUP guides and instructors, but it is not a formal tour or lesson. Please wear water friendly footwear ( neoprene shoes or rubber boots), being aware these are rocky shorelines. Bring gloves for the clean up.

We launch from Pacifica Paddle’s boat barn, at the end of E Dock. Please arrive 20 minutes early to unload your kayak/canoe/paddleboard, or get set up with one of ours. We want to be on the water by 6:30. Those with their own gear can enjoy this event completely FREE! To rent a kayak it’s $35 + tax, or just $30 + tax for a SUP.
