Guides on the Map: Exploring the Connections Between Ocean, Freshwater, and Us

Ocean Week Saskatoon

June 7th 2025
Pike Lake, Saskatchewan

Get ready to dive into discovery! As part of our “Under the Sea” end of year camp, Girl Guides (ages 9-12) will take part in an exciting, hands-on adventure exploring a giant floor map that shows how the ocean, rivers, and lakes are all connected — and how we’re connected to them too.

The Girl Guides will:

  • 🗺️ Walk across a huge map of Canada’s waterways
  • 💧 Learn how fresh water and ocean water flow together

Plus, Guides will also get hands-on with:

  • 🧪 Building a simple water filtration device to understand clean water
  • 🚤 Designing and testing mini boats in a boat-building challenge
  • 🪣 Pond dipping to explore the tiny creatures living in the water
  • 🦑 Creating Ocean animal crafts
  • ☀️ Starting the day with ‘Ocean’ yoga

This is a closed session for Girl Guide participants and family members.
