From Shoreline to Seafloor

May 29th
Stephenville, Newfoundland and Labrador

Students from Stephenville Primary dove into exciting, hands-on learning with Fisheries and Oceans Canada, ACAP Humber Arm and Qalipu First Nation The day began with an Indigenous opening prayer and drumming, setting the tone for a day dedicated to connection, conservation, and community. From exploring marine ecosystems on a giant ocean floor map to learning about species at risk, invasive species, and marine debris, students were immersed in exciting educational activities. A beach cleanup followed, giving students the chance to take action and see the impact they can make. The day wrapped up with a BBQ and cake—because no celebration is complete without a sweet treat!
