Critical Distance with Southern Resident Orcas

Ocean Week Ottawa

June 2nd - June 9th
Ottawa, Ontario

Join a pod of endangered Southern Resident orcas in this augmented reality experience called Critical Distance.

Dive into the Pacific Ocean’s Salish Sea and interact with a pod of Southern Resident orcas.

Critical Distance, an amazing augmented (AR) experience, presents the story of Kiki, a five-year-old orca, and her pod. Witness the impact of aquatic noise pollution on the whales’ ability to hunt, communicate with one another, and survive.

Presented during Ocean Week, Critical Distance encourages visitors to become ambassadors for marine conservation and the survival of the endangered Southern Resident whales.

A headset is provided for this AR experience.
