A Public Panel Discussion: Weathering the Storm

Ocean Week St. John's

May 28th 2023 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador

The Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (CMOS) is inviting the public to a free panel discussion for residents concerned about weather related emergencies.

Join us in-person or online as we explore the science behind predicting and tracking severe weather patterns, discuss tips on developing effective response plans for natural disasters, and examine how extreme weather events in Newfoundland are linked to climate change. As Newfoundland is no stranger to the wrath of nature, this event aims to equip the public with practical advice and strategies for staying safe during extreme weather events.

CO-HOSTS:

  • ASHLEY BRAUWEILER Meteorologist, CBC
  • EDDIE SHEERR Meteorologist, NTV

PANELISTS:

  • CHRIS FOGARTY Canadian Hurricane Centre
