Immersive Marine Ecology Paddle & FUNdraiser

Ocean Week Victoria

June 7th 2025 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Victoria, British Columbia

Breathe in the salty air and soak up fascinating ocean facts on this immersive marine ecology paddle!

Ever wondered how kelp reproduce? Or whether eels actually live in eelgrass? Have you spotted a northern kelp crab up close, or considered what sea otters and sunstars might have in common? Discover the hidden connections between the underwater world and life on land, from insects to orca whales, as you paddle through coastal waters.

Join Mer Tales Ocean Journeys’ professional Marine Biologist and paddle guide, Gina Lemieux, and Pacific Wild’s Marine Specialist, Sydney Dixon, for a Saturday Stand-up Paddleboard adventure that dives into the mysteries of the sea. Along the way, we’ll do our part for the ocean—collecting marine debris as we go (collection buckets and telescoping nets provided).

Come curious, win prizes, leave inspired—and maybe even a little saltier.

Your donation will support Pacific Wild in their important ocean conservation initiatives.

Pacific Wild is grateful for Mer Tales Ocean Journeys and South Island SUP offering this event as a fundraising initiative on our behalf. Your donation will support our important ocean conservation initiatives.

Your immersive experience is supported by South Island SUP, providing high quality paddling gear and safety equipment.

Ideally you should have some stand-up paddleboarding  experience and be able to paddle in light wind. Mer Tales Ocean Journeys and South Island SUP provide Paddle Canada certified stand-up paddleboard instructors and will help you get on the water safely and with confidence.

Details of what to wear and bring will be provided in an email after registration.
