About The Artist
Chantal Caron is a choreographer and artistic director of Fleuve | Espace danse, known for her outdoor works inspired by the St. Lawrence River and natural landscapes. A Member of the Order of Canada, she creates site-specific dance films like Glace, Crevasse et Dérive and Marée Noire, which have won international awards. Her environmental advocacy has earned her the title of St. Lawrence Ambassador (David Suzuki Foundation), the 2023 Prix de l’Artiste de l’année, and a 2025 Coronation Medal. She is also a mentor and speaker on art and ecological issues.
