Patrick Thompson has exhibited internationally, working in painting, sculpture, printmaking, and public installation. His social practice work in Embassy of Imagination and artist collective PA System (with Alexa Hatanaka) has relied on north-south collaboration. Patrick works and lives primarily between Kinngait (Nunavut) and the National Capital Region. Patrick was commissioned to create the work SINAAQPAGIAQTUUT/THE LONG-CUT for the Toronto Biennial of Art in 2019, an exhibition and a performance 2,300 km in the making. Other works have included a mural project with young Inuit artists Parr Etidloie and Audi Qinnuayuak at Kinngait Studios and Gauge, a collaborative three-channel film made on Baffin Island that documents the translation of mural techniques onto monumental ice walls.
