Fortunate Ones

Fortunate Ones is a Canadian indie folk duo from St. John’s, Newfoundland, consisting of Andrew James O’Brien and Catherine Allan. Andrew and Catherine were raised in different parts of Newfoundland Island, with Andrew hailing from Mount Pearl and Catherine from Corner Brook. However, fate brought them together in St. John’s in 2010, where their paths crossed, and they began singing together.

Andrew and Catherine feel immensely fortunate to chase after their dreams. Their name resonates with audiences, representing their shared experiences. Their mission is to bring people from all walks of life together, transforming strangers into friends, evoking a range of emotions such as joy, hope, sadness, and contemplation. They firmly believe in the collective spirit of unity and togetherness, acknowledging that we are all interconnected in this journey of life.

Fortunate Ones will take the stage in St. John’s, Newfoundland, to kick off Ocean Week Canada 2023 and captivate you with their soulful harmonies and heartfelt lyrics. This evening concert creates an opportunity for people to connect over music, the ocean, and community.
