La conquête du béluga

June 3rd 2022 - June 5th 2022
Montreal, Quebec

At dawn or at sunset, five members of parliament address a crowd on the shore of the St. Lawrence River. They talk about  fishing rights, the economy, protecting marine species. A masterfully crafted work by multidisciplinary artist Maryse Goudreau, La conquête du béluga features selected trans cripts from 150 years of debates about belugas in Canada’s  House of Commons.
