When art and science work together, incredible things are created. Celebrate with nine talented artists from Nunatsiavut, Labrador during the opening of the exhibition Nunatsiavummiut Art for Sustainability. The artworks were created through the Sustainable Nunatsiavut Futures (SNF) Arts Collective, an initiative developed in partnership with the Nunatsiavut Government that explores how knowledge can be created and shared in ways that respect Inuit culture, priorities, and self-determination. Each artist addresses key issues shaping life in Nunatsiavut today, including climate change, food security, and self-determination. Artists Julia Andersen and Anika Nochasak will offer demonstrations of their practices during the event. Light refreshments will be provided. Therooms
The exhibition is co-curated by Jessica Winters and Dr. Melanie Zurba, and the SNF project is led by the Nunatsiavut Government, Memorial University, and Dalhousie University, funded by the Ocean Frontier Institute. The exhibition runs May 15 to August 16, 2026. Therooms
