As part of Ocean Week Canada, the Build-a-Whale program is travelling to Maaqtusiis Secondary School in Ahousaht on June 10 for a full day of hands-on marine education. For the first time ever in Ahousaht, youth in the community will have the opportunity to build a life-sized offshore orca skeleton bone by bone while learning about orca ecotypes, marine ecosystems, and ocean stewardship. The exhibit and programming will travel aboard the MHSS crew boat from Tofino, bringing this unique interactive experience directly to the community.
