On Tuesday, June 3rd at 4:00 PM, we’re launching the 14th Ocean of Data Challenge: Foil Forward at The PIER | Le CIPER (1209 Marginal Rd. Halifax, NS B3H 4P8).
In partnership with SailGP and the NorthStar SailGP Team, we’re inviting post-secondary students from across Canada to dive into real race data from the fastest sport on water. Whether your background is in data science, engineering, computer science, ocean sciences, design, business, or sport management — or you’re just passionate about sailing — there’s a place for you in this challenge.
What to expect on June 3rd:
- The official challenge streams revealed for the first time
- A panel discussion with three voices working at the intersection of sport and data:
- Angela Siegel — Associate Dean Academic, Dalhousie Faculty of Computer Science
- Tim Hornsby — Technical Director & Athlete, NorthStar SailGP
- Leith Rankin — Director of Customer Experience, Dash Social
- A networking session to meet potential teammates across disciplines
