As part of Ocean Week Canada, Grade 3 students from Woodland Primary School and Forest Park Primary School will take part in Corduroy Brook Day at the Corduroy Brook Nature Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor.
Students will participate in a multi-demonstration learning day featuring a sample iceberg, a touch tank with ocean species, a marine mammal display, and an educational presentation.
DFO Fishery Officers will speak with students about a wide range of ocean-related topics, including marine species, ocean conservation, and the importance of protecting aquatic environments. Through hands-on activities and demonstrations, students will have the opportunity to explore, ask questions, and learn more about the role our oceans play in supporting life in Newfoundland and Labrador and around the world.
This event provides an engaging and interactive way for young students to celebrate Ocean Week Canada while building awareness of marine ecosystems and ocean stewardship.
