June 8th 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Kingston, NB, New Brunswick
We’re excited to be partnering with the Belleisle Watershed Coalition and Kingston Peninsula Heritage for a special Ocean Week Canada event on Monday, June 8, 2026 (World Ocean Day).
We’ll be welcoming Grade 8 students from Macdonald Consolidated School in Kingston to explore the vital connections between the St. John (Wolastoq) River and the ocean — both today and throughout history.
Students will:
• Learn why healthy rivers and oceans matter for communities, culture, and wildlife
• Discover the historical importance of the St. John (Wolastoq) River and its connection to the sea
• Take part in hands-on learning activities about watersheds, conservation, and marine ecosystems
This event is part of Ocean Week Canada, a national celebration that connects people to our oceans, rivers, and waterways.
Stay tuned for photos and highlights from the day, and join us in celebrating and protecting our watersheds, our river, and our ocean. 🌊
