On World Ocean Day, Frank and Kathy Brown from Heiltsuk Nation, together with community members, took a group of people out paddling in an oceangoing canoe used for the Tribal Canoe Journeys. This WOD paddle was organized as part of the welcome ceremony for the First Nations National Guardian Gathering, being held in Victoria BC on June 10-12.
