Join Nature Nova Scotia for a guided birdwatching walk at The Guzzle, a renowned tidal channel between Long Island and Boot Island in the Minas Basin. Timed with low tide, this event will offer a special opportunity to observe a variety of migratory shorebirds in one of the Bay of Fundy’s most important feeding areas.
Experienced birders will help participants identify species and share insights on mudflat ecology, the role of Boot Island National Wildlife Area, and how tides shape this coastal habitat.
We will also be relaunching the “Plover Pledge” initiative to encourage simple actions that help protect nesting piping plovers, a species at risk.
All ages are welcome. Please bring binoculars if you have them and wear sturdy footwear suitable for wet, muddy terrain.
