Mission Point Park June 8, 2025, 12-4 pm

Join us on Sunday, June 8, 2025, for the Sunshine Coast’s premier World Oceans Day Celebration at Mission Point Park in Davis Bay! This free, family-friendly event is the highlight of the Sunshine Coast Ocean Festival, uniting our community to honour and protect the ocean that sustains us.

WORLD OCEANS DAY CELEBRATION at Mission Point Park, from noon to 4 pm on Sunday, June 8th with music from local DJ Sam Pulpo, interactive and educational ocean-focused booths and activities including Cedar Weaving with the shishálh Nation Education Department, Herring Curtain Making with the Herring Enhancement Program, Sunshine Coast Streamkeers, Marine Life Sanctuary Society, Ocean Wise, Georgia Strait Alliance, SCCA, DFO, Sunshine Coast Tourism, and a BBQ by the Sunshine Coast Rotary Club

Free and fun

  • Music: Music from local DJ Sam Pulpo.
  • Interactive Booths: Connect with groups like the Sunshine Coast Conservation Association (SCCA), shíshálh Nation youth showcasing cedar weaving, Herring Curtain Making with the Herring Enhancement Program, Sunshine Coast Streamkeepers, Marine Life Sanctuary Society, Ocean Wise, Georgia Strait Alliance, DFO, Sunshine Coast Tourism, and more.
  • Family Activities: Dive into ocean-themed games, crafts, and educational activities designed to inspire ocean stewardship in all ages.
  • BBQ by Sunshine Coast Rotary Club: Enjoy a bite and soak up the picnic atmosphere with stunning ocean views.
  • Raffle Prizes: Win amazing prizes donated by supportive local businesses—every ticket supports marine conservation!
