Make Waves with Us! Join “Waves of Change” – June 8, 2025
As part of Ocean Week Canada, we’re inviting the Nanaimo community to roll up their sleeves and dive into conservation at beautiful Neck Point Park! This inspiring event blends hands-on action and meaningful education to highlight the importance of protecting our aquatic ecosystems.
Help us clean up the shoreline to reduce waste and protect marine life, then stick around for an exciting live demo of water quality testing using specialized kits — a unique chance to see how local water health directly impacts our environment. You’ll also find an interactive educational booth packed with resources, activities, and displays about aquatic conservation.
A special highlight of the day will be a short but powerful talk on Indigenous-led conservation, exploring how traditional knowledge and modern science come together to protect the land and water we all rely on.
Waves of Change is more than a cleanup — it’s a movement to inspire long-term environmental stewardship and deepen our connection to the ocean.
Let’s make a difference together — one wave at a time.
