Marvelous Mola – FREE Webinar with world expert

June 7th 2024 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Port McNeill, British Columbia

FREE Ocean Day webinar about Mola / Sunfish with world-renowned scientist.
Because, HOLY MOLA they live HERE off the coast of British Columbia!

There are TWO species found in BC waters. The Mola in this photo is a Mola mola (Ocean Sunfish). The other Mola species found in these waters is the Mola tecta (Hoodwinker Sunfish).

Join us on June 7th, 2024 at 1:30 pm PDT to learn about these astounding species as ambassadors of the biodiversity in our waters and how much more there is to discover, even about giant fish that can be over 3 metres long.
We are so lucky that Dr. Marianne Nyegaard herself will provide this webinar. No one knows more about the Mola in BC waters than she does. It’s her work that led to a new species being recognized AND that it’s known that this species is off our coast.

Join us to marvel at Mola! Register here: https://www.zeffy.com/en-CA/ticketing/ce53ca1d-fc78-482a-a92c-3bfc52ecdb61

The content will be appropriate for all ages but the educational approach will be aimed at elementary school students and they will be the priority for discussion and answering questions. The webinar will be ~30 minutes followed by ~15 minutes for questions.
