Lac McGlashan and Girard shoreline clean-up

Ocean Week Ottawa

June 1st
Val-des-Monts, Quebec

Join residents of Lac McGlashan and Lac Girard for our shoreline clean-up! These two small lakes in Val-des-Monts are connected by a small stream. As we know, all waterways are connected to the ocean. In the spring and early summer, we uncover rubbish that has built up over our winter. As we collect and weigh our trash, we’ll also document what insects, frogs, and other animals we encounter! See photo for previous year’s trash next to the Lac McGlashan stream.

Our lakes flow into the Riviere Blanche, then to the Gatineau River, into the Ottawa River, then to the St. Lawrence River and into the Atlantic Ocean!

Meet at the corner of Ch. des Sables and Ch. de la Rive at 10am. We’ll have some garbage pickers and bags. Dress for the weather and the insects!
