This Ocean Week event will take place as a part of the Nature Discovery Backpack lending library launch delivered in partnership with the Buffalo Lake Métis Settlement, Alberta and Watersheds Canada. The workshops will take place June 7-8, 2024 and will include interactive workshops for grade K-12 students to use the backpacks (exploration tools, Water Rangers tiny testkits, field guides) to increase knowledge of local nature and species, and actions that can be led by the youth to protect it. We will enhance the freshwater action and community science component of the workshops with hands-on learning using Water Rangers equipment.
