Àros na Mara World Ocean Day Festival

June 8th 2023 - June 11th 2023
Iona, Nova Scotia
We are celebrating our 7th Àros na Mara World Ocean Day Festival in Iona, from June 8-11th, 2023.

This will be a family-fun and ocean-themed festival for people to enjoy scientific and interactive displays and children’s games. Festival goers can sample locally crafted specialties while being entertained by some of Cape Breton’s finest Celtic performers.

The purpose of this informative and celebratory event is to heighten public awareness, general acknowledgement and appreciation about the fundamental value that the Bras d’Or Lake possesses for all Nova Scotians. As World Ocean Day is being celebrated around the world on June 8th, we consider this a special occasion for Cape Breton Island’s own participation in this world-wide event.

Our World Ocean Day celebrations will be on Sunday, June 11th – 12-4 around the Iona Port.

For further updates and schedule please visit – www.arosnamara.ca

The event is indoors and outdoors – visitors should be prepared for the weather. Visitors can expect displays, a market, antique car club cars, children’s games, music, barbecue, chowder, bookmobile, and more!
