Quesnel, British Columbia

Join Strawberry Isle Marine Research Society in celebrating Ocean Week Canada with their Build-A-Whale Program!

Build-A-Whale is an interactive program that aims to educate, engage, and encourage environmental stewardship for our marine wildlife and ecosystems. The program allows participants to assist in constructing the skeleton of a real offshore killer whale while learning about the biology, ecology, anatomy, evolution, and conservation of killer whales and other marine mammals.

Her name is O120, and to date she is the only traveling killer whale skeleton in the country and the only offshore killer whale used for education. You can participate in Build-A-Whale this year in Northern BC for Ocean Week Canada. Join O120 from 9am-3pm in:

  • Quesnel on June 10th, at 319 N Fraser Dr, Quesnel, BC V2J1Y9
  • Nazko on June 11th, at 9560 Nazko Rd, Quesnel, BC V2J3J9
