Ocean Week Canada is happening June 3 to 12, and the Ocean Wise Shoreline Cleanup is helping lead celebrations of the occasion across the country. The UN has proclaimed World Oceans Day on June 8 as an opportunity to raise global awareness of the benefits humankind derives from the ocean and our duty to use its resources sustainably.

As part of the festivities, the Shoreline Cleanup is hosting a virtual webinar on June 3 at 11am Pacific // 2pm Eastern. You’re invited to join this interactive session titled “Do you want to take action for Ocean Week Canada but are not sure where to start?” to hear about:

•  Ocean Wise and the Shoreline Cleanup
• Why plastics are problematic and actions you can take to reduce ocean plastics
• How to lead an Ocean Wise Shoreline Cleanup in your community
• How to share you cleanup to media and social media
