The Allied Arts Council of Pincher Creek is excited to share From Headwaters to Oceans: How Water Connects us with the community in Pincher Creek, AB.
Join us at the historic Lebel Mansion on Saturday June 3rd as we are joined by an expert panel who will discuss their work and connection to how water shapes us.
1pm: Katie Morrison, the Executive Director of CPAWS, Southern Alberta Chapter and Shannon Frank, the Executive Director of Oldman Watershed Coalition will be here for presentations and a panel discussion alongside local artist Karen Tamminga-Paton.
2:30pm: Karen Tamminga- Paton will be giving an artist talk on her time as an artist working with the Canadian Ocean Literacy Coalition at the IMPAC 5 conference (the Fifth International Marine Protected Areas Congress) in Vancouver this past February.
Water Ways Mural Project
As a way to engage students in learning about watersheds and the water system, we are hosting a community mural inside of the Lebel Mansion. Kids will work with the Allied Arts Council Executive Director Stacey McRae on a project related to our waterways during our regularly scheduled Friday Art Classes.
