3 Juin 2023 10:00 à 18:00
Petty Harbour, Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador
Our event is a celebration of Oceans Week Canada as well as the seasonal opening of the Petty Harbor Mini Aquarium!
The event will take place just outside the Petty Harbor Mini Aquarium (35 Southside Road, Petty Harbor-Maddox Cove, NL) on June 3, 2023 and will tentatively run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Our event will include many interactive activities focused on marine life and education, such as a robotic arm model for coral salvage, a new virtual reality diving program, and many additional games and activities on the ocean theme. We will also include educational stations to learn about squid anatomy through dissections and gain information on invasive species from our marine educators. Admission to the outdoor event is free and open to people of all ages.
The mini aquarium will be open during the event and regular admission prices apply. The Petty Harbor Mini Aquarium consists of over 25 exhibits of local sea animals, touch tanks, and interactive sea-themed exhibits.
With all the activities we have planned, we are sure that participants of all ages will have fun and develop a new appreciation for the marine environment. We hope to demonstrate the importance of our global ocean and aim to give our participants an idea of how small changes in their daily lives can profoundly alter marine health.
